The $100.00 prize money we won we donated BACK to the Yakima Valley Pet Rescue. We did, however, keep the large poster board check!

July also found us doing some NEW performances! These included skits and acts for the Summer School held at Adams Elementary in Wapato, WA, then the following week for the Wapato Library at the City Hall Park. The focus of these performances were education, being kind to one another, exercising both your mind and body, AND responsible dog ownership, OF COURSE! The dogs involved in this were our Tia, Sandy (Border Collie), and the "STAR" of the show, "Jelly." Tia did some cute tricks and her blindfold "Find-It" game. Sandy did some cute tricks, and her "Western Act." Jelly surprised everyone and READ from flash/cue cards and executed what they said. Then she AMAZED them with her "BASKETBALL BORZOI" routine! Here are some photos of our PERFORMERS!

The first weekend of July 2006 finds Jelly BACK in the agility ring competing in Open Agility, where the first day we Q'd and placed 2nd in JWW class and Double Q'd with TWO FIRST PLACES!!! WOOHOOO!!!

During the month of June 2006, Jelly performed for the Yakima Valley Kennel Club Dog Show, where we did a variety of our "Canine Freestyle" routines as well as our "Basketball Borzoi" routine. We then did our "American Woman" routine as the "half-time" entertainment for a soccer game in a ball stadium the following weekend.

In May2006, Jelly made her debut of yet another NEW CANINE FREESTYLE routine to the music of "AMERICAN" WOMAN" at the BCOA National Specialty! We were so thrilled to be able to perform for our fellow Borzoi Fanciers!

Jelly finished her RALLY NOVICE TITLE!
Jelly finished this new title at the BCOA National that was held in Olympia, WA in May.

New routine!!!

This year, we have kicked off our year by debuting a new routine at a Chili Cook-off Fundraiser for the Yakima Valley Pet Rescue on January 28, 2006. This event was a HUGE success! The tables were full and there were lines of people waiting (it was packed)! When it was all over, the Yakima Valley Pet Rescue was $7,000 closer to their goal! The goal being a No-Kill Shelter Building. Jelly and I were thrilled to be able to help with this wonderful event for a GREAT cause! All photos from this performance by Anne Swindeman of WindyCanyon Labradors. Thank you, Anne!

Debbi introducing Jelly and their new routine to "We've Only just Begun,"sang by The Wannabeez, originally done by The Carpenters. Jelly weaving between Debbi's legs.
Here they're circling in different directions. A skip/hop move--this photograph shows them in between skip/hops. This is Jelly's favorite move!
They're both moving backwards here! Jelly is moving backwards through Debbi's legs where she then circles Debbi backwards and Debbi cirlces the "other" way! Cool move!

So far, with the exception of April, we have at least one performance per month scheduled until October! A couple of these include the Borzoi Club of America National, Saturday, May 27, 2006 in Olympia WA and the Yakima Valley Kennel Club Show on Saturday, June 3, 2006. We are also peforming for retirement homes, etc. We will soon be debuting other skits/ acts, so stay tuned for yet more of "Cernaks Performing Borzoi!"
